About Me

My name is Debra Eichner.  I'm  happy to be continuing in this profession that took me by storm.  I began teaching in January 1980 in the city of brotherly love, Philadelphia. Over the past 34 years, I've had many wonderful experiences with children entrusted to me.  They have always pushed me to be the very best teacher I could be.  I've learned from each and every one of them.

Learning new things is somethingI have always cherished.  I began my college experience as a math and physics major, As I mentioned above, Education as a career took me by storm.  Abandoning my dreams of engineering,  I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education from East Stroudsburg State College in December in 1979.  I pursued classes to enhance my teaching knowledge at Penn State King of Prussia while living in Philadelphia.  In 1999, I began an adventure in writing with the Lehigh Valley Writing Project in which I earned my National  Writing Project Fellowship as a part of my Master's of Science degree in the teaching of English as a Second Language.  Just this past year, I returned to Penn State Lehigh Valley and earned a Certificate as a Writing and LIteracy Specialist.  At this time, I'm taking a personal academic break to concentrate on new initiatives at PAHS, but before too long, I'll be shopping for my next  academic adventure.

*Learn something new everyday.

*If you don't know, find out.

*Believe that nothing is impossible.

These are mottos I hold dear.  Hopefully, my students will embrace them, too.
